Next season, 2020/21 is a huge landmark for Stamford Bridge Football Club as we reach our 100th anniversary!
We have in our possession the very first handwritten minutes from the first committee meeting back in 1920. As you can imagine we are keen to ensure that this incredible anniversary does not go by without the appropriate level of celebration it deserves. Ideas already include a sponsored cycle ride from Stamford Bridge (Chelsea) to Stamford Bridge, celebrity football match, a combined junior presentation day along with Summer fair, Sportsman's Dinner ending spectacularly with a Dinner/Dance finale. We are still very much open to fresh ideas though. We aim not only to celebrate in style, but to raise some serious cash along the way.
Hopefully you will be aware that we will have a new football field within the next 2 seasons behind Roman Avenue/Brown Moor/Godwins Way. This is great news! We are being financially supported on a massive scale by the Local Authority and the Football Foundation but as a club we must also make a contribution.
We are therefore setting an ambitious but entirely achievable target to raise, but it will need a great deal of planning and support. This is where we hope you come in!!!
We would like to invite you to an informal meeting on Tuesday 7th January 2020 at 8pm for an 8:15pm start at the Old Station Club where we can start to discuss how such events, celebrations and roles would need to be divided up. We have arranged for the Old Station Club to put on some light refreshments such as sandwiches, crisps and nibbles. We would love you to join us...
